What to give this Christmas

I want to share a wonderful excerpt from my cousin Brad's letter home this week. He is on an LDS mission in Peru Lima South Mission. I am always touched and blow away at how humble and incredible this boy is, Proud to call him my cousin. This Christmas Season I have not felt the spirit of Christ and the spirit of the season. I have been focused on material gifts to give and what I want, I have not really sat back and thought about the gift of Christ and that God so loved the world, and each and every one of us, that he gave us his Son, so we could become like him and so we could return to live in Heaven with our Father. Not only should we keep the Spirit of Christ with us all year long but especially this time we should be eternally grateful for God's gift to us. So now I want to share the thoughts of my cousin Brad and hopefully we can learn from his example, which is so beautifully put.

"This Christmas season I have thought a lot about what present I could
give. What contribution could I possibly make to the kingdom? I
decided I could give God my heart. I have nothing more to give but all
of myself. I know it might not be much, but right now I have nothing
more to give. So that's what I've done. I've given God my heart, my
mind, and my soul. Nothing more and nothing less."

As many times as it is said, we must not forget the true meaning of Christmas, and what better way than to give God a gift. A Gift of our love, our full heart.
